Network printer
To print on a network, a host PC, client PC, and printer are necessary. The host PC is attached directly to the desired printer. The client PC is not attached with any cables to the desired printer, but is connected through a network to the host PC.
NOTE: Before installing a printer driver on a 2000 network, the host PC and client PC must already be able to communicate with each other over the network. If the network is not set up correctly to allow communication, printing will not work. Contact your system administrator, PC manufacturer, or Microsoft with questions about setting up the network.
Host PC setup
If the printer is hooked directly (parallel) to the computer, follow these instructions for standard installation of the appropriate printer driver:
1.
In Windows 2000, click Start, Settings, then Printers.
2.
Double-click Add Printer.
3.
Click Next.
4.
Select Local, then click Next.
5.
Select Port (usually LPT1) then click Next.
6.
Choose HP from the Manufacturer list.
7.
Choose the printer model from the printer list, then click Next.
8.
Select Yes if this printer is the default printer or No if this printer will only handle selected print jobs.
9.
Click Next to continue.
10.
Select Share As and type a name to identify the printer.
11.
Click Next. A screen will appear asking for the printer's location and comments. No information is required on this screen.
12.
Click Next.
13.
Select No to skip the test page, then click Next.
14.
Click Finish to complete the installation.
15.
If asked for a Windows disk, insert the appropriate Windows or PC Recovery disk and follow the instructions on the screen. Once the driver has been installed, it will be listed in the Printers window ( Start, Settings, and Printers).
Client PC setup
1.
In Windows 2000, click Start, Settings, then Printers.
2.
Double-click Add Printer.
3.
Click Next.
4.
Select Network Printer then click Next.
5.
Click Next to browse the network for available printers.
6.
Select the correct printer from the list and click Next.
NOTE: Could not access printer. Access is denied. This message appears if permissions were not properly established in the Host Setup section. If this message occurs, cancel the installation and repeat the "Host Setup" section.
7.
Select Yes if this printer is the default printer or No if this printer will only handle selected print jobs. Click Next to continue.
8.
Verify selections and press Finish to complete.
9.
If asked for a Windows disk, insert the appropriate Windows or PC Recovery disk and follow the instructions on the screen. Once the driver has been installed, it will be listed in the Printers window ( Start, Settings, and Printers).
NOTE: Windows will only ask for the installation disk in very rare circumstances. If you insert the disk and Windows cannot find the printer drivers, please contact Microsoft or the computer manufacturer for assistance in locating the printer drivers.
10.
Close the Printers window and try printing.
Creo que un problema demasiado Simple y te falto un poco de malisia para hacer ese trabajo.
