Asus Z87-Deluxe/Quad: La primera del mundo en usar Thunderbolt 2

Asus anunció en el día de hoy la primera placa base del mundo certificada con la conectividad Intel Thunderbolt 2, la Asus Z87-Deluxe/Quad.

Basada en el chipset Intel Z87 y enfocada a los procesadores de 4ª generación Intel Core, la Asus Z87-Deluxe/Quad ofrece dos puertos Thunderbolt 2 que permiten conectar hasta 12 dispositivos de forma simultánea gracias a que cada puerto permite una tasa de transferencia de 20 Gbit/s, siendo retrocompatible con la primera generación de dispositivos Thunderbolt.

El resto de la información se va completando con una conectividad Thunderbolt 2 que permite transferir vídeo a una resolución 4K (cuatro veces superior a la Full HD), cuatro ranuras DIMM, ofrece tres PCI-Express x16, cuatro PCIe x1, diez puertos SATA (6x SATA III + 4x SATA II), conectividad NFC, doble interfaz Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 4.0, salidas de pantalla en forma de HDMI, DisplayPort, y varios puertos USB 3.0.

La Asus Z87-Deluxe/Quad se puede encontrar ya a la venta por unos 290 euros.




Además de los manuales, el disco de drivers y la chapa para los puertos traseros, nos encontramos con 4 cables SATA III, la antena Wi-Fi con dos conectores, un puente SLI y 2 conectores para los puertos frontales/USB.

La antena 2T2R ofrece soporte para doble banda de 2.4/5 GH

n la zona superior podemos encontrar el socket LGA1150 para procesadores Intel Haswell. A su izquierda, un VRM de 6+2 fases será el encargado de transformar la potencia que toma desde el conector ATX de 8 pines superior. A su derecha, 4 slots para memorias DDR3 compatibles con módulos de hasta 3000 MHz bajo overclock y con los más habituales de 1600 MHz por defecto. El formato del socket no cambia con respecto a la anterior generación LGA 1155, algo que permite usar los disipadores de dicha plataforma sin necesidad de adaptadores.
En la zona inferior encontramos los 3 slots PCIe x16 3.0/2.0 y entre ellos otros 4 PCIe 2.0 x1. La configuración de puertos PCIe es de x16/x8x8/x8x4x4, todos ellos conectados directamente al procesador. Podremos realizar configuraciones SLI o CrossFireX de 2 y 3 gráficas, pero teniendo en cuenta que una tercera quedaría limitada a 4 líneas físicas hasta el chipset. Además, encontramos en el lado derecho un gran disipador para el chipset Intel Z87.
