No más RedHat? :( Que harán tantas compañías que basan sus servidores en RedHat (el de LANeros.com una de esas)... Que más alternativas existen para el ya famoso RH.
 
Increible, es lo que me ha gustado en linux. :( desde que comencé siempre me ha gustado esta distribución :(
 
pues le toco pasarce a suse o mandrake.... preferiblemente SUSE, peor lo mejor seria un buen brinco a Debian de una vez.
 
Redhat will still exist but only their commercial Redhat Enterprise products will be available, at a cost.

RedHat seguirá produciendo las versiones Enterprise... y existe un proyecto asociado con RedHat llamado Fedora, que seguirá sus pasos en el sector de usuarios de escritorio.

Fedora podra ser solucion a usuarios caseros, pero no lo es para un ambiente empresarial y/o de negocios. El esquema de licencias de RedHat no creo que vaya a ser muy aceptado, pero bueno, ellos son libres de tratar de mantener su empresa a flote.

Golpe fuerte para Linux ese movimiento de RedHat.
 
Pero en que momento Red Hat a regalado las Versiones Empresariales de su Sistema, Ellos simplemente van a enfocar su Mercado a ese Campo, me parece Bien, Y simplemente Liberan la Version Home de su Distribucion a un Proyecto que ellos apollan como lo es Fedora.
A Niveol Empresarial Nada CAmbia.
 
Claro que cambia a nivel empresarial, lo digo porque trabajo en eso. La nueva politica de licencias de RedHat tiene huevo. Y antes SI era posible usar las versiones empresariales de RedHat de forma gratuita, es mas, hasta el up2date se podia usar gratis si se tomaba la molestia de llenar el formulario de inscripcion. En el futuro ya no.

Fedora no sirve en estos casos. A la mayoria de los clientes para convencerlos que usen Linux hay que mostrarles una empresa solida que de soporte y que sientan respaldo. Ofrecerles Fedora sera igual de complicado que ofrecerles Debian.

Por el momento no porque Mandrake se encuentra bajo concordato y eso genera desconfianza, ademas es bien conocido que tienen un soporte malo. Eso si, Mandrake tiene en este momento una buena oportunidad. Por otro lado, ahora que Novell compro Suse habra que esperar que nuevas reglas ponen. La veo negra.
