    YA has nothing to do with the word YES... that I'm absolutely sure. And it's true that YA is street language from African American origin. They also do that with words like: WHAT = WHA (E.g.: Tell ya' wha')

    I believe the most clear English accent is the Californian American. However I love the British accent! It's just too elegant and I envy those who can speak it!

    Here in Venezuela everyone says "CHorts" (for shorts) and "guachiman" (for watchman)! I think the last one is the worst!

    Hi! I would recommend Frank Sinatra. He uses clear words... no slang at all! I learned a lot with his songs, even though they are a bit old.
