Motorola has introduced in Korea a retro phone – StarTACIII (MS900). It should recall Motorola StarTAC phone, which brought the idea of the currently popular clamshell form-factor in late 1996. According to the company, it made its best to highlight the classic style applying the retro style elements popular in the 1960s.
Naturally, the StarTAC III has many features of an up-to-date clamshell – a color QVGA internal display, an MP3-player, GPS-functionality, “Moneta M-Bank” pay system and e-dictionary. However the company didn’t add either a built-in camera or an external display.
The main specs of the StarTAC III:
* Internal 2”, QVGA (240x320 pixels), 262K colors
* MP3-player, GPS, e-dictionary
* 128 MB of internal memory (55 available to the user)
* Li-Ion 880 mAh battery
* Talk time - 160 minutes
* Standby time - 300 hours
* Dimensions – 89x48.5x19.6 mm
* Weight – 92 g.
The Korean release is set for early March. The recommended price is 297 thousand Won, i.e. $315.
