Bryan Cranston's epic reply to FL mom who's against 'Breaking Bad' toys
A Florida mom started a
petition on change.org in October to remove "Breaking Bad" action figures from the shelves of Toys "R" Us.
Of course, a lot of people on social media had something to say about the petition, and that included an epic response by the star of the hugely popular, award-winning show.
Susan Schrivjer, who lives in Fort Myers, wants Toys "R" Us to stop selling the doll collection, which comes "complete with a detachable sack of cash and a bag of meth."
The Florida mom
told FOX 4 Now that the action figures promote drugs and send the wrong message to children.
The company sent FOX 4 Now a statement that reads: “The products you reference are carried in very limited quantities and the product packaging clearly notes that the items are intended for ages 15 and up. Items from this TV series are located in the adult action figure area of our stores.”
So far, more than 6,000 people have signed Schrivjer's petition.
A
counter-petition, which is also on Change.org, by
Action Figure Insider has more than 2,000 signatures. Like the retailer's statement, that petition points out that Toys "R" Us only sells the action figures in an aisle that is designated for adult collectors, and that the company is not being irresponsible by having the figures in its store.
Ironically, Schrivjer says she was a fan of "Breaking Bad," which she thought was great and "riveting."
According to TIME, even though the company has not officially responded to the petition beyond the statement, a search of its website on Monday night did not return results for the "Breaking Bad" action figures.
